Hi apologies for not searching but am 74 and am really nervous I will do this wrong. I will be going to Florida after vaccination, but for the first time cannot fly direct to my destination so am arranging for a paid driver to pick me up. I will have an American cell phone the day after I arrive but for the day I arrive, I need to call driver on arrival and she has to be able to call me if any problems arise (she is able be to call Canada on her plan). What do I need to add to my plan and how will I know in advance if it will work. Yes I suffer from anxiety-problems LOL

You'll need a U.S. roaming add on to make or receive phone calls while you're ion the U.S. These start at $8, but ensure that you select the correct add-on as not all of them include phone calls. Add-ons are listed at Plans (publicmobile.ca) .

As mentioned above, you will need to purchase 10 day US roaming add on.

The day prior to you leaving, purchase this add-on:

U.S. Talk Only: $8

And here's the process to do so when logged onto yourself serve account:

Click on ‘Purchase Add- Ons’ on the Overview tab and scroll down to the Add-On calculator.
Click the plus sign (+) to add and the minus sign (-) to remove selected Add-ons.
When you’ve added all your desired Add-Ons, click ‘Buy Add-Ons’ or ‘Make a Payment’ below the calculator:

You will see ‘Make a Payment’ instead of ‘Buy Add-Ons’ if there are not enough funds in your account to make the purchase.
If you don’t have sufficient funds to purchase the Add-Ons, you will be asked to make a one-time payment equal to the price of the Add-On, less your current available funds. Click ‘Submit’, then ‘Go back’: now the button below the calculator will say ‘Buy Add-Ons’.

Select ‘Confirm my purchase’, and you’re off to the races
