cannot send or recieve text messages

I have set up my new sim card and phone number in a samsung galaxy A5 phone. I can call out and receive calls, but cannot send or recieve text messages. I have searched some posts and updated the APN settings, but still no basic texting is happening. Frustrated. Please help. Thank you. 🙂

It sounds like you have cellular connection, but not operating perfectly of course. I would do a full hard reset on your phone, pop out the sim while its off and put it back in before start up. How long have you had the new sim? sometimes it can be a little wonky for the first few hours/day

@Josie3 try resetting your network settings

1. Open Settings>General Management>Reset
2. Tap Reset Network Settings>Tap Reset Settings
If prompted enter your pin, passcode
3. Tap Reset Settings 1 more time to confirm
4. Restart
