Read Only - What does this mean?

I was typing a reply to a post when a warning appeared saying that posting on Read Only area is not allowed. What? I posted my reply anyway and this appeared.

What on earth does this mean?

My reply was not posted and it is not in My Unmoderated Items.

Has anyone else experienced this?

My guess would be that an Oracle or mod moved the post that you were replying to to an non-open place that we can't see. Or they moved it and at that same moment you clicked Post.

Edit: If you're on a desktop then that should pop-up while typing. If on a mobile then it will pop-up after tapping Post.
