looking at a new plan

Under province wide plan . What is unlimited province wide-minutes2 ? the 2 is? The first part is easy to understand unlimited province wide

This means you can call anywhere within your home province, and talk for as long as you want.

If you select one of the Provincial talk plan details, say $25 for 500MB 3G (publicmobile.ca)

and expand on "Offer Details", #2 reads as:

2 - Province-wide calling means you can make outgoing calls to any number within your home province. Plus, you’ll receive all incoming calls across Canada regardless of the province they’re from. If you’re travelling to another province, you can make Province-wide calls while you’re there. You’ll still receive unlimited incoming calls. But you won’t be able to call your home province while travelling and will need a Long Distance add-on.

that sounds all good for unlimited but why the 2 in the wording is that a incoming outgoing or a time frame type restriction

Hi @gq #2 is the reference number of the Plan Details

Taxes are extra. The account must have sufficient funds to cover the total cost each month.

The description is included in the details. Basically, the difference between Canada-wide (which is still available on a Limited Time basis) and the Province-wide is that Public Mobile believes customers might like choice between the two and will soon have different price points for each option.

In reality, it's a price increase on the prior plans masked by a new string of plans with lower flexibility in calling outside your 'home' province.

I don't approve of the wording "home province". It's only "home" in as far as your phone number belongs to that area code of that province. I prefer to say that you can call provincial numbers of whatever province that you're in.

Thus my use of quote around 'home'.

That's what PM used in their description - so for sake of consistency and to prevent wording discrepancies for OP, thought better to tow the line (geez, can't believe i just said that -- what have i become)

[EDIT: I do concur better word than 'home' could have been utilized to fit real-life situation of a person's current whereabouts when physically making the call.]

There's no good reason to choose the province wide calling plan ATM when the canada wide plan is still being offered at the same price. Choose the canada wide option and you will be grandfathered in. If you decide to change plans in the future you can worry about the difference then....and choose to change your plan on next renewal unless you need more data now.
