These customers are unable to make any outgoing calling without purchasing or using a Canada wide calling add on. It's just a little ironic or coincidental(?) that this possible launch of province wide calling plans is hampered by the fact that you need Canada wide calling to call provincially currently?

Dissent towards any announcement can be handled just like pm's customers and community handled it 3 years ago....organize, complain and make your voice heard. LOUD AND CLEAR!!

Public Mobile will change calling area from national to Provisional only next week. For $25, you need pay $5 extra in order to call Quebec (from Ontario) , or vice versa.

Will this affect old customer (such as myself) $25 plan?

There is. He told me he got it this week. If I want activate my daughter's $25 plan, he recommend do it today before new price start.

Personally I don't think it's good move. Look at its competitor Lxxxx mobile, the offer extra $$$ vs price increase. What's wrong with Public Mobile ?

It's the sales guy who did my plan , and my parents in law plans. I was planning to convert daughter from Fizz to PM. He said he did get formal notice from PM, not someone verbally.

I just text him and he said new sign up will be affected but he is not sure old customers will be grandfathered.

He said he'll call in Monday and update me after.

I really don't want leave PM and go to other mobile company neither , but $5 increase for non-Ontario calls will force me to do that.

This might make sense on the $15 tier (currently 100 minutes) but would be a subscriber exodus if it affected $23+ tier.

PM is generally a reliable network, but prepaid plans are only marginally competitive now with most competitors.

Given some of the moves (MB upcoming service issues) and potentially this, might suggest that Telus wants to get rid of PM.

PM has good history of grandfathering old plans for current customers; for example I have a $10 plan still being honoured though closed at least a year ago.

At 20% that's quite a jump in pricing.

Price increases are not unheard of, but If true hopefully history will repeat itself. A year maybe 2 ago iirc pm tried to do a rate increase but the other brands did not follow so pm reversed course.

The only plan increase could be tried is on the $15 tier... Few will pay $28+ for PM 3G speeds for 1GB of monthly data / UL T&T.

The gap between Telus & PM prepaid is converging, so if this is the trend, there would be little point in having the 3rd tier discount brand (i.e. Public Mobile).

Telus pricing use to be MUCH higher than prepaid offerings. Might be a carrot to get subscribers off PM/migrate and then jack the prices at Telus/Koodo.

Anybody heard of this price increase?

Was this an authorized dealer or a corporate Public Mobile mall kiosk? And, what's the saleperon's source?

Usually, when and if plans change, past plans that customers already have are usually honored. I do sure hope that Public Mobiile is not considering any moves to make already poor price plans worse.
