It is required for sending and receiving MMS but they do not count towards any data limits you may have.       <description>&lt;P&gt;I've tried everything that you all have been so kind to explain...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However my phone is still not sending or receiving picture messages.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm older now &amp;amp; I'm getting frustrated. Shouldn't of changed brands of phone.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you all for your help. I'm going to take it to someone to look at &amp;amp; fix for me.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I didnt see an answer to whether or not you are able to successfully use data for other things on your phone. If data isn’t working to access internet it wont work to send pictures. The statement by PM that Picture messaging is unlimited is because they wont count the data used t send pictures against your monthly data allotment. But data has to be turned on and working on your phone.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;AE_Collector&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
