"Set Up Data On An IPhone" - is it really needed?

Hey, when I activated my phone, it said something like: "Remember to configure your data usage correctly" and it linked to this page: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/set-up-data-on-an-iphone

On the one hand, I didn't do this and my data seems to be working fine. Is it a problem if I don't follow those steps? Is it always actually incorrectly set up at first for everyone no matter what? Is it going to create problems for me later on?

On the other hand, when I tried to follow the instructions (iPhone SE), I don't get the same menus. Just like Marty1 (https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Getting-Started/Set-up-Data-On-Iphone/m-p/480242#M95697), I get "Name of access point", then "Username", and "Password". There's no APN, MMSC, or MMS Proxy options.

What's more, for name of access point, it is already set per default to ISP.MB.COM—notice the difference: it has an extra "I" at the beginning. Is that bad or literally the same thing?

For most iPhones, you do not need to adjust anything. It is automatic. As long as things work, you do not need to work. Only older iPhones (ie. iPhone 4), needs adjustment.

I use an iPhone and all is working fine, no need to set anything...it's an iPhone, it finds the correct frequency and just works! Let it be.

Most devices come with built-in APN settings for majority of carriers (actually operators work with device operators on this to be able to detect the operator from your SIM and use the appropriate APN settings). Since your data is working fine - your phone is using the correct APN settings. Whether you see it or not - that could be a phone issue. So I suggest you just ignore it.

The reason why PM have published that article is to cover the devices which doesn't have these carrier APN settings built-in (for example, a really old phone when PM didn't even exist, or a phone from a lesser known manufacturer or a phone from overseas, etc).
