Yes, it's compatible. Look for at leasr UMTS 850MHz and 1900MHz (UMTS bands 5 and 2). Try to get a Canadian model to ensure best LTE network compatibility and for warranty that is valid through Samsung Canada.

Yes most i don't know of any samsung phone not compatible. Just make sure that its not blacklisted and you should be good.

There are many Samsung phones that aren't compatible. It branded as Samsung does not ensure compatibility, although newer models are often a safer bet.
