Funds in your Public Mobile account balance cannot be used on a pay-per-use basis. You'll need to log into your account at selfserve.publicmobile.ca and purchase a data add-on. 1GB is $15. If you haven't already done added this, there's also a free 2GB add-on available.

@mikelariviere Just to add to what @computergeek541 advised, there's also the 500 international mins available in addition to the 2GB free data being gifted by PM to all customers until the end of this month in your add-ons selection of your account.

Try this:

Log into your Self-Serve account
Click “Purchase Add-Ons” in My Data & Add-ons section of Overview tab
Select the Free Holiday Giveaway: $0 2GB Add-on and/or Free Holiday Giveaway: $0 500min INTL Long Distance (incl CA & US). It’s up to you if you want one or both!
If you wish to add a Data add-on instead, here's where you do it too!
Click “Buy Add-Ons” at the bottom of your screen.
