If I already have a 4.5 GB plan with a 1 GB promo, will I lose the 1 GB if I upgrade to 4.5 GB + 500 GB plan?

Which 1GB promo is this? If this is a 1GB promo that last for a specific amount of renewals, I would wait until a later date to make this change to be safe. I don't see the current $40 plan going anywhere, although I can't predict the future. The $40 plan for a long time had 5GB included, and was only reduced to 4.5GB for a short period of time. In that sense, it's not really a "new" plan.

It just shows active under my data and usage.

But nothing shows under add ond. So I assume this would be a permanent 1 GB addition.

No one here can absolutely answer your question with certainty unless knowing which promotion you have on your account. Then, people can look up the details of what you received. There are some one-time data add-ons bonuses that stay until you use them up, but there have been some other promotions that had a certain amount of bonus that last for a certain amount of renewals that also had a condition that you stay on the same plan.

ok well that helps. I think this is until it is used as it does show the usage and what's left

Hi @TeresaU How much is your 4.5 GB plan with a 1 GB promo bonus? Is it also $40? if so, you are not really upgrading but lateral change to get another 500 MB bonus. Very interesting! I hope you get it. Cheers!

This isnt a promo link, it is the new and improved $40 plan (that @TeresaU wants to switch to) that looks suspiciously identical to the old and improved $40 plan that temporarily had a relatively new and decidedly unimproved $40 plan shoved in between the two plans for a few weeks or so.
