Is it OK if I install the new SIM card before I activate the account? We're going our old phone to an elderly relative and I'd prefer to install the card before we give it to her, even though she won't have activated it yet

Yes that is fine, but make sure the phone is unlocked.

Yes, you can install the sim. Only emergency calls from 911 can be made.

You can go ahead and install it

The card will not work

It will not ruin the card, no worries

You may have to restart the phone after activation for it to properly work
