Long distance calling

Whenever I try to call someone it keeps saying long distance call and won't connect? Anyone else have this issue?

Canada or another country? Canada and if you're on a Canada wide plan. Put a 1 infront of the number. If it's another country you need a add-on. Only certain countries can be called. So if it is another country which country are you trying to call?

@jessicavieira Try dialing a 1 in front of the number. If you as on limited minute plan log into your self service account and see if you have minutes remaining? If out, the 500 minute, $5 Canada wide addon. If its an US or international call you have to buy either the $8 US add on or the $15 international one.

Just ignore that message...your call will go through without any extra billing to you or anyone else.

Are you dialing ( 1 ) before the number? Have you waited through the entire message to see if it connects afterwards? Does your plan include unlimited calling? Check your overview page in your account.

@jessicavieira After the message completes, does the call continue to connect?

As others wrote, you can dial "1" before the 10 digit phone number to avoid hearing this message.

Is it all numbers or one particular number? If it's one are you sure it's a valid number?

You could try using apps like Textnow, Skype, or WhatsApp for the time being.

@jessicavieira What area code are you calling and which plan do you have?

Open your dialer app, try manually entering the 10 digits of the phone number you want to call.

Talk option required. Calls made to numbers starting with the following six digit combinations are not included in U.S. Roaming talk Add-Ons or U.S. calling from Canada and will not be completed when dialed: 712-432, 605-562, 641-552, 605-475, 605-477, 712-775, 559-726, 530-881

It depends on the plan you have. Do you have a provincial wide calling plan or a Canada wide calling plan?

Also are you trying to call outside Canada? That would require an add on.
