No Picture Texting

I can not sent nor receive picture messages. How can this be fixed?

Cell data needs to be on. Or the automatic upload/download switch on.

Can you otherwise browse the internet with your phone?

If not then you'll need to set the APN settings in your phone.

Edit: right. I wasn't quite complete. I was looking for whether they had data. Not to exclude the APN option.

Yes, I can browse the internet. I have reconfigured the APN. Now I can send and receive picture messages.

Access Point Name

Which isn't just a name but has a bunch of data settings. A lot like your home internet router. Think of the APN data settings as your gateway address in home-speak.

I went through and updated my APN to what is listed here, and still cannot send picture texts. No issues iwth internet....just pictures won't go via texting. Thank you.

@momneedscoffee : If this is an Android then please post screenshots of your APN settings. Maybe an eagle-eye will see some subtle thing. Or other things to try.

Of course you need mobile data to be on to send and receive.

SMS is enabled
MMS is enabled

Also double checked my mobile data - it is turned on.

I have no issues with anything else data related.....just pictures via text 😞

Those are all the settings listed on my phone.....it's an LG G5 so an older phone.

Older LG phones especially need a factory reset to enable settings for MMS. You would want to make sure you back up your phone first to the cloud before proceeding.

Tried those settings. It did not work, and prevented me from seeing texted pics sent to me. With the previous settings, was still able to receive pics of texts...just couldn't send.

@momneedscoffee : Can you force close the app and then clear cache. If you wish to backup your conversations then you could also clear data.

Also maybe try a different texting app to narrow down a problem with your app.

Also, make note of all the things in APN Type and then blank it out and try that. Still no outbound...try just mms and text browsing as well. Still no outbound...add default, in front of the mms. Note the comma and no space.

And flip in/out of airplane for each test including the 8799 from earlier.

@darlicious : I had understood that a factory reset was for data overall. The OP can browse. So they're part way there.
