Add APN settings to Android 8.1

Why does the PM SIM not have the APN settings built in?

Other than going the APK route or ordering a Freedom Mobile SIM, is there any other way to get the APN settings into Android 8.1?

@KMD77 Your only other option is to submit a ticket to PM explain that you are unable to add or edit any APN settings on your device and ask them to send you a text that will add the correct APN settings to your device.

To submit a ticket to the Moderator Team, please start a conversation with the Public's virtual assistant, SIMon by clicking here or the icon (bottom right of your screen).

If you are still having problems contacting Public Mobile then click here. The link sends you to the private message function and adds the moderator team as recipient for a private message. You just have to enter a title and text in the body of the message describing the problem and post. The message will be received by the moderator team and they will respond to it. You will receive the response in your private message inbox.

Please note that account verification may be required when contacting the Moderator Team

APN settings are never saved on any sim card. It's up to the phone manufactuer to pogram them into the software, or for the user to manually do that if necessary.
