Whatsapp cannot send me a message

I downloaded the latest WhatsApp, rebooted my phone. It's connected to Wi-Fi.

WhatsApp cannot send verification message to my phone number .

I do receive other messages to that number.

What I do wrong ?

Try unistalling it and then try reinstalling it again.

@klukva1905 did you change the region to Canada? Do you have an iphone? If you do enable mms and sms on it. If this fails ask them to call you to verify the app.

@klukva1905 What is the area code? Maybe it is a new one like 672? These are may not be supported fully yet.

Unless WhatsApp changed. Can't you verify number via a phone call also?

I know they send a verification text but I do recall you were able to click verify by call and WhatsApp calls your number and a robot tells you the code to enter.

I set region to Canada.

My phone number is 416-xxx-xxxx.

When I click 'Next' button, 'Connecting' pop-up stays for some seconds, then it goes back to 'Edit your number'

May be phone call is for iPhone only.

@klukva1905 I have an android.

I just removed WhatsApp and installed it again.

The verify by "Call" was available. Says " Call Me" underneath " resend sms"

Google Play services didn't have 'SMS' permission.

now it works
