Hi,

I went through the chatbot and it opened up a ticket for me. It was asking for my phone number I wanted ported over along with my current providers account number. Then it skips down asking for the SIM card number. Do you want the sim card for PM or for my previous provider?

Thanks,

Ryan

@Gpcarrubba wrote:

It will be your public mobile sim card, but remember not to cancel with your previous provider until you port your number with pm.

You are not supposed to have to cancel the old provider, even after porting is complete. The porting process itself cancel the service at the old carrier.

Please be careful with the advice given to others. Sometimes, what happens is the customer calls the old carriner because they believe that they're supposed to call the old carrier to cancel (when they aren't). Customers often do not understand when porting is actually complete and cause unnecessarily cause a porting failure.
