Hi,

I'm trying to find out if Public mobile allow video streaming through Ring security system app - for the doorbell camera to work properly.

Public Mobile does not restrict Internet access in any way, it only throttles your max LTE speed to 3mbps. (Well, unless of course you use up all of the data in your 30 day plan+add-ons)

If 3mbps is sufficient for ring video streams, it should work just fine. (And I suspect the experience will be no different than an unthrottled plan...)

If you can download the app, I do not see why you would not be able to use it and differently than with any other cell phone provider.

@esjliv Ability to download the app doesn't guarantee full use of app and all it's functionalities. It was mentioned by Ring that the cell phone provider can have certain video streaming capabilities Blocked.

Hence my inquiry

@Waka33 public mobile allows hotspot so I doubt they would block any streaming attempts

@Waka33 to make sure, contact the moderators. Give them the video parameters that the app says is blocked by certain providers so that they can check it for you. There are 2 ways to contact the Moderator Team:

Once connected to Simon, you will be asked to log in again with your community user name and password. Please do, this allows you to continue and send your message.
- Check your private message sent box (click on the envelope top right of your screen) to make sure the message was sent.

- Keep an eye on the envelope top right of your screen. The mods answer will show up there. When it does, you will be asked to verify your self service account, with your password and login. Doing so allows the process to continue. Stay safe.

@Waka33 Public Mobile wouldn't want to get in trouble when it comes to network neutrality regulations. For that reason, this activity isn't going to be blocked.

@Waka33 Public Mobile does not block any video streaming ports. In fact they are very happy when you do stream and use up your data so they can sell you more. 😁

i have used the ring app to see who was at my door or what motion happen or even watch live stream to check on my house
