It's a good idea to specify sms instead of iMessage in settings as it will save your data, it's unlimited as long as you are using sms, bit iMessages use data which is limited

i reached the max data limit for the month so i could not longer browse etc but my text messages would not send either. Are they related? i have unlimited texting? Surely the two are not attached. this was text messaging with no pictures etc just words.

Enable sms amd mms and use that when your data is finished. It doesn't require plan data. Stay safe.

Any unused data left at your next renewal will just roll over until you need it next time.

Make sure to enable wifi on your phone, if you haven't already.

Hi! If you are using an iPhone just make sure that if the message isn't sending, hold onto the message for 1 to 2 seconds and press "send as text message" when it comes up.

Either do this, or when your data runs out, turn off your iMessage completely so it will automatically send as a text message.

This should resolve your issue.
