text message not delivered

I was away from home with no wifi and I tried to send a text message 3 different times and the message stated not delivered what would cause that to happen?

@barbb are you on an iPhone using I message? With I message you have to have data on to send the message, it does not actually take up data but you need it on.

Is your data turned off while away from home?

Make sure your data is enabled if you're using iPhone.

Sounds like iPhone blues

If it's MMS then data must be on either Android or iPhone

@barbb Make sure SMS and MMS are turned on within your iMessage settings.

@Naepalm FYI: if you force an iPhone to use only iMessage it will count towards your data usage when wifi is unavialable.
