Hi all,

1.) Picture text does not work without a data connection, $15 plan says Unlimited

When I run out of Data allowance I can't send a picture text over normal cell or WiFi

please explain

@LP1 in order to send an mms text message data must be enabled on your phone. It will not use any of your 250mb. But it has to be on. Stay safe.

Data connection needs to be on. Picture messaging doesn't consume your data other than what your phone takes when connected.

Picture texts should not use up data. Just need to have data turned on even if there is no data. Check your usage history to check if your data is indeed used up with picture messaging. Picture texts will not work with Wifi in general unless iMessage/iphone

You only have to have data turned on when sending the picture text. But it does not take up any data.

If you do not have data, you might consider restricting data on your apps. Enabling data to send/receive MMS will also enable apps to access data.

So just make sure any apps that use data are turned off.

Also keep in mind that videos sent through MMS or received will use data. Even if you are connected to wifi.
