Text Messages not coming through

Lately, certain messages are not coming through from some of my contacts. Or if they send 2 consecutive messages, only the second message is coming through.

Anyone know how to solve this problem?

@JamieH Go into settings, Apps select the app you use for SMS clear the cache and then select force stop. Restart your phone. Let us know if it's still a problem.

For the past 3 weeks.. every other day, texte messages seem te come in hours late. My messages are sent but responses arrive between my texts the day after.

Also, 2 days ago all gmail attachments were not downloadable... then 4hours later they all came in at once... what is going on...

I have a Samsung S20+

One of the Oracles had the same (or similar) issue.

Only thing I can think is making sure Chat is completely turned off under Message app settings.

click Messaging app,
click 3 little dots top right,
select Settings,
under Chat settings, scroll to "Select default messaging type",
toggle it to Automatic or Text/multimedia msg

@mimmo was having some issues with text messaging not long ago. I was also having problems with text messaging, but my issue was different as I was having issues sending outgoing messages (to a different carrier).

Hello @JamieH , Because you said "Lately", and you have been a Community member for some time now, so I am assuming a customer for some time as well.

I have seen other texting issues posted in the last week or so, with no obvious issue.

I would have the Moderators check into your account to ensure all is okay.

To contact the Public Mobile Moderator_Team, there are two ways to reach them:

1 - Faster Method - Click the bubble comment circle on the bottom right hand side of your screen, or use this link to: Get Help With SIMon the Public Mobile chatbot

2 – Slower Method - Use this link to:

Private Message to Public Mobile Moderators (PM Customer Service Representatives)

In the meantime while waiting to hear back from Moderators, try one or more of the below:

*turn off your phone, leave off for a minutes, then reboot

*removing your SIM for a few minutes, then reinserting it

*go into airplane mode for a few minutes, then going back to regular mode

*reset network settings.

*does this happen if you try your SIM in another phone?

The mods reset my account, and that seemed to cause all incoming SMS to stop. Mods suggested I factory reset my phone...

I however did the following

1) put sim in different phone (all sms arrived right away)

2) restarted my phone into recovery and deleted cache partition (android)

3) reset networks settings

Put sim back in phone and all worked.

Not sure which step fixed issue... Just happy sms work again

The original poster last posted 10 months ago, and that's who you addressed your response to.

YET, the OP still granted a solution to what was a 10- month old issue.
