Anonymous 0.5 sec calls from 011xxx

Hi community,

There is always the last drop, mine just came in.

Me and two other family members are being bombarded with extra-short calls (like you can't even pick up your phone no matter how fast you're).

It's always from phone numbers (looks like spoofed) like 01123577210799, 011385910346150, etc.

It's crazy, they can call during day or night a dozen times or even more. Daily. For a week now. And these calls do not go away. They will keep "calling" for sure.

How do I deal with this? What's the origin and the intent of those calls? Is there a way to do something in order for these calls to go away for good?

@alexus block them individually or change your number. There really isn't anything else to do about it. And changing you number doesn't guarantee that it doesnt happen again,

@alexus If you are using an Android phone there is an App from the Play Store called Call Blocker by Fiorenza Fransesco that works well. Contains no adds is free and will allow you to block International incoming calls and many more options.

@alexus, i got one the other day, and I was holding my phone when it came about. My kid was in my arms bawling, so, I let her had it with the phone. I heard the other guy saying, hello, hello, and my kid was bawling. I was trying not to laugh.

Guess what, he didn't dare call me back again!

1. It's impossible to block them individually unless I do this as a part-time job

2. I can not pick up the phone. What they're doing is intentional (they probably expect me to call back)

3. There should be a way to trace/block/alert other carriers who deliver this to Public/Telus

@alexus, look at what @geopublic suggested. Even if it's on the Google Play Store, type in the same app in the Apple store. Maybe have something there for you. I think that's a great way to block your calls. Failing that, get a new number.

Now, let's be honest with you, how many are you getting? hundreds? thousands? millions? or just a few?

With everything going on in the world, I thought finally we won't receive calls from FAKE CRA about my Income tax fraud Or other spam calls LOL!

If you have an android phone put your phone on priority mode during the night and set priority mode to only ring if someone from your contact calls.

And to prevent blocked or rejected calls from proceeding to your voicemail to continue to annoy you by leaving a junk message, set the Blocked/Rejected conditional call forward setting to an invalid number other than the default voicemail by dialing:

*67*8080000000# (Set back to default with ##67#)

Unanswered calls, and calls while your phone is offline or out of the service area will continue to proceed to your voicemail as usual.

I use airplane mode at night religiously. Those things come in waves you will see they will go down

No number is immune

Except 1900 numbers:)
