@mdwallace97 the data feature has to be enabled on your phone to send/ receive mms( picture) messages . It doesn't cost you any of your plan data. Stay safe.

@mdwallace97 hi data just needs to be on 😁 it wont take away from your data alottment keep in mind other apps can download updates etc. if not set up properly in your settings

Yes. Picture message uses mobile date to send and receive picture. It will not use wifi.

But your plan does not need to have data. Data use on picture message is included with your message feature. Even you plan has data, data usage by picture message will not count against your data quota. All you need is enable data on your phone.

you need it on to send the message but it will not actually use up data from your plan. You can toggle it on and off for when you have to send or receive a mms.

Just make sure you remember to turn mobile data off if you are worried about using data after you get the picture.

I also kind of wish the phone manufacturers would figure out how to receive a picture message while just connected to WiFi.

Also keep in mind that video MMS messages will count against your data limit.
