A friend is giving me his iphone8 does he have to clear his apple Id off it for it to work for me? I've never owned an apple product.

@carlaspapa hi yes you will need your own apple id he needs to do a reset and wipe the phone

The phone will need to be unlocked, the ID will need to be cleared. This goes for any apple product you purchase otherwise you could have access to your friend's personal info, including contacts and apple music.

@carlaspapa Make sure your friend clears their Apple it before applying and factory reset the phone beforeactivsting your own. Stay safe.
