    <description>&lt;P&gt;I was curious about this as well.&amp;nbsp; This week I have been receiving many weather alerts, however I have never received an amber alert or the alert about the power plant.&amp;nbsp; I found that strange.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Not receiving Emergency Alerts</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I haven't been receiving any emergency alerts on my phone ever since they started testing the service in our area (Toronto, Ontario) Today again there was an emergency alert for a potentially life threatening issue (relating to nearby nuclear power plant) which thankfully turned out to be sent in error. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However its a bit dissapointing that I can't receve these alerts.&amp;nbsp; My questions,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1 - Do other people on public mobile receive alerts?&amp;nbsp; Does public mobile support this?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2 - If PM does support emergency alerts, then is it possibly a feature my phone does not have? &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have searched online on how to enabl/disable theese alerts, but I don't have any such settings on my phone. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My phone is the Sony Xperia XZ Premium (&lt;SPAN&gt;G8142)&lt;/SPAN&gt; Dual sim model for Asia/Europe)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Purhcase in fall 2017, and it is running Android 9.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;EDIT: I also have phone and text plan with data and it shows 4G+ on my network when I'm connected so I assume that means LTE&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;BLOCKQUOTE&gt;&lt;HR /&gt;&lt;a href="https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/18056"&gt;@erotavlas&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;wrote:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;P&gt;I haven't been receiving any emergency alerts on my phone ever since they started testing the service in our area (Toronto, Ontario) Today again there was an emergency alert for a potentially life threatening issue (relating to nearby nuclear power plant) which thankfully turned out to be sent in error. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However its a bit dissapointing that I can't receve these alerts.&amp;nbsp; My questions,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1 - Do other people on public mobile receive alerts?&amp;nbsp; Does public mobile support this?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2 - If PM does support emergency alerts, then is it possibly a feature my phone does not have? &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have searched online on how to enabl/disable theese alerts, but I don't have any such settings on my phone. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My phone is the Sony Xperia XZ Premium (&lt;SPAN&gt;G8142)&lt;/SPAN&gt; Dual sim model for Asia/Europe)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Purhcase in fall 2017, and it is running Android 9.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;EDIT: I also have phone and text plan with data and it shows 4G+ on my network when I'm connected so I assume that means LTE&lt;/P&gt;&lt;HR /&gt;&lt;/BLOCKQUOTE&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;I wonder if it has anything to do with your phone being a model for Asia/Europe?&amp;nbsp; My phone is a Chinese phone, global model and I got both the msgs this morning.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Wow, if&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;your phone&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;really doesn't do the alerts, then maybe all those people who call 911 about receiving the alerts need to switch to your model...&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I couldn't figure out how to enable it before either, or if my phone even supports it.&amp;nbsp; So I just downloaded the app called Alertable from the google play store.&amp;nbsp; I've gotten all the alerts since I installed it.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

You do not need data to be enabled.&amp;nbsp; Unfortunately, many official looking websites and news agencies got this wrong and that false information quickly spread.&amp;nbsp; You do, however, need to be connected to an LTE network.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;That is correct, these alerts are delivered via LTE broadcast channel BCCH in SIB12.
