Hello everyone,

I currently have the 1GB data plan. I will be visiting the US in September. Is the data going to be available in the US or do I have to pay extra before my departure?

You need to purchase the US data roaming add-on for 10 days.

@karen_z Your data will not work in the US unless you are on the $60 plan that includes 2GB of US roaming data.

For data to work in the US you need to purchase a 10 day US Roaming data addon.

I've been trying to find the answer to a similar question... this one is so close...

I'm new... I just joined yesterday

I have 8 Gig's of Data and plan to leave for the united states shortly.

I understand that I need to buy a roaming add on... but will I be able to still access the 8 gig's?

Your 8Gs would only be data use in Canada. It is separate from a US roaming data add-on.

@Muskoka60 Sorry no your plan data can only be used whilst you're in Canada. You'll need one of the US roaming packages for use in the US. Here are your options..

@Muskoka60 No, your data will not work in the US. You will need to purchase PM US roaming add-on that offers data.

None are. There was a short-lived plan last year that covered both countries. It hasn't returned.

Fun fact though...last I checked, inbound calls and texts work in the US without add-ons. But that might have changed recently. And it's unofficial so it could change at any time without notice.
