Go to http://activate.publicmobile.ca to activate your SIM. Fill in all the fields. You can put a referral code to get a free 10$ credit. Continue to the next page and select the second option which is for getting your number transfered to Public Mobile.

You should be able to port a number for an Iphone as long as it is unlocked. What is the model ?

Check here This will tell you what carrier your phone is locked too OR if it is unlocked. You need to enter your imei number.

Also I suggest that you take a number from PM first and then later port you number. But make sure your current account is still active for the port to happen later.
