@srlawren Whatsapp is dead as of December. After that all your friends on Blackberry, Microsoft, Nokia, and older not upgradeable versions of Android get the boot

But for that matter I see no reason for keeping both Messenger and Whatsapp alive anyways since both owned by same company now. Why not pool resources on one app.

The new moto flagship, Moto Z came out the other day and only has a 2600 mAh battery and apparently holds out pretty well and that phone has the same sized display as the XL.

Very sad at that announcement on Tuesday with the same prices ... lame.

IF I want a great camera, you know what I will use my dSLR ...

The Pixel series really is the antithesis of the Nexus series. I am not at all excited about this business decision.

The other scary thing is the HTC involvement. HTC in recent years has lost more than Blackberry, Nokia, and Motorola combined. Most business analysts are unable to give any valid reason why Samsung has destroyed them so.

Only thing going for Pixel is the Google name. I am skeptical it will be enough.

@srlawren software optimization is obviously a huge plus when it comes to battery life and is why most reviews show such a wide gap in favour of Pixel. The fact Google is abandoning Nexus brand means 6P will never receive such love from them.

I love the idea of a pure Android phone from Google, which is why I own a Nexus 5, but the price on these new Pixel phones is a bit too high for me. I get it, the build is better and all, but I just can't justify dropping a thousand bucks on a phone, especially considering the competition out there in the < $400 range.

Unlocked out of the box was one of the main selling points of the Nexus phones.
