@jrboodoosinghIt has been operating as a Telus subsidary since fall of 2013.. here is the wiki link. It works fine if you BYOD and does your own support, light users who don't mind the possibility of dropped calls and your work / life don't get impacted with things like provisioning / autopay failures. So YMMV.

Yeah Public Mobile was an old CDMA carrier who went out of business and got taken over by Telus

The current system is nothing like the old system in terms of plans, hardware subsidies, or features

Public Mobile was launched on March 18, 2010, to encourage competition in wireless services. It's also owned by Telus.
