If I have data with my plan and I get a data add-on does my plan's prepaid data get used first?

I haven't gotten it yet, I just want to know whether the data in the plan is used first before the promo add-on data I'm considering getting.

Any (Canada wide) add-ons will only kick in once your plan data is used up.

@jaguarbass this info from @wetcoaster is correct: your plan data is always used up first, and your data add-on(s) don't get consumed until the plan data amount is exhausted for the current cycle.

It sounds as though they have this figured out well. And apparently if you have Canada calling $5/500 add-on as well as one of the US calling add-ones and run out of outgoing minutes on the $15 plan, the "best" calling add-on will be used depending where you are calling.
