Scroll down to the bottom right of the webpage and click on the coverage map tab and check for your area. Public Mobile uses TELUS network

In such a place, data and text messaging would work at Public Mobile, but phone calls would not.

The island look relatively good, but Labrador looks to have almost no coverage, likely because of a lower population.

On the Telus website coverage page at https://www.telus.com/en/bc/mobility/network/coverage-map?linktype=content_panel , you can uncheck 4g LTE and LPWA to make sure that there is HSPA+ (required for vocie calls at Public Mobile) in your area.
