@margincall, you buy one of the US roaming add-ons. They all have 10 day expiries. That is pretty much it. If you have never purchased an add-on before, it will be useful to review this link which illustrates the two step process in purchasing an add-on.

@margincall You can also download a free calling app such as TextNow. As long as you have wifi or internet access, you can call any phone numbers in North America.

There are 3 roaming add-ons that will allow this.

Talk for $8

Talk and text for $15

Talk, text, and 250MB for $20

If you take any of the add-ons that include roaming text messaging, there is a bug that cause incoming text message to stop working when you return. That usually fixes itself within 24 hours.
