MMS not delivered on roaming

I was in the US during the long weekend.

Had active text, calling and 10-day data add-ons.

Text worked, calling worked, data worked. MMS messages sent to me were not received.

What gives?

@Alexo what kind of phone? Most android phones you have to toggle a switch on in settings for roaming of picture messages

Did you try rebooting your phone while you were there?

@Alexo This may have been a network issue. Unfortunately, since you are no longer there, this makes it very difficult to troubleshoot.

Nexus 5.

"Roaming data" was turned on on the phone.

"Automatically download MMS" is turned off, both globally and for roaming. I always receive an MMS notification and then download it manually by clicking on it (or not, if I choose to).

I got the notification as part of the SMS (same as when not roaming) but clicking on the icon did not download it.

Network issues that last 3 days and I am the only one affected? Probably not.

This is getting more interesting...

I am no longer in the US, so I cannot reproduce it exactly, however I asked a friend on T-mobile US to send me an MMS and it never finished downloading. An MMS from a Rogers customer downloaded fine.

Can anyone with Amerifriends try to reproduce?
