I noticed there is a green checkmark on the bottom of my sent texts, what does it mean?

Can others tell when I have read their texts?

I have an android, sony Xperia phone.

@Karyathena the checkmark probably means that the text message is sent. On Android they can't tell if you've read their message

A green checkmark means you have sent a text. There are different indicators for messages being read depending on which app or software that you used to send it.

It means OK. all is well ... the message has been sent OK.
