I went on http://www.willmyphonework.net and shows that only 3G is ok.

You don't need 4G, 3G is sufficient just slower4 with data.

Well, I usually use whatsapp to send voice messages and hangouts to call with wifi/3g to Brazil. So, it's ok if 3G will be pretty slow.

Sending voice messages will be fine on 3G, don't worry.

@littlegirl85rj You can also make voice calls on Hangouts without a problem on 3G.

To be perfectly candid about my opinion: As of now, 4G is just that fancy little trinket that one doesn't really NEED (I can't think of a single application that won't work on 3G). In the future, as Voice over LTE is rolled out along with a host of other IMS-based services, 4G will become a lot more desirable than it is today.
