US data add-on speed for users with plan that is only 3g data in Canada

Hi I have a basic plan with 3g data.

if I buy a US data add-on, will it also be capped to 3G or will it be LTE when roaming in the US?

I know that if buying a data add-on in Canada for my plan it will be 3G so I want to clarify what speed the US add-on will be for my situation.
