I assure you that it will cheaper for your wallet to buy a sim card and a plan there @Suzyd...for example in France sim card for some euros and for 2 euros per month you will be able to phone and texts and if you travel in some countries in Europe you could phone too.... It's very cheaper in Europe...

PM has only US roaming add-on. You have no choice. Getting a local SIM card when you arrive at your destination is the only choice. For temporary communication with your family on wifi, WhatsApp is great to get message back to your family quickly before getting your local SIM card.

PM probably wont have that kind of roaming for long time, its requested many years ago.
