I got U.S roaming add on didn’t really work

Yesterday we went to the US for shopping and some dinner. When I added the 250MB data roaming addon it didn’t work and was VERY spotty. We got lost in a foreign country because the data was unreliable and the GPS on my phone gave up half way through trying to get back to Canada. Not cool. Basically a giant waste of $10. It also shows data was used which is laughable. If I wasn’t on wifi my internet Did NOT work and pages wouldn’t load.

Even if it was unreliable, you were still using the data, and 250 mb isn't a lot so it likely got used up. The data usage won't stop just because the signal's not great.

Sorry to hear about your experience, though, and I hope the mods can provide some assistance. My wife and I used the add on in May when we were driving down to NJ from Canada and it worked without a hitch, but stuff happens.

@Kdh which state and city you are at?

Tried T-Mobile? did you make sure you manually select T-Mobile and not let it on Automatic?

No I did not try that. I was in northern Michigan. I didn’t know I needed to change the carrier to that specific one. Thanks for the tip

PM partners with T-Mobile and AT&T for US roaming. The US shutting down of 3G will affect the use of Voice roaming.

You would have better chance to get the voice connection you need with T-Mobile. But use manual selection (for T-Mobile) instead of letting your phone to automatically select it for you. Let us know how it turns out
