Mobile hotspot does not work

I have a Sumsung Galaxy J2 prime. I don't understand why the mobile hotspot does not work. I can connect to the mobile hotspot with my Acer laptop but it says that the is "no internet". But internet work on my mobile phone. Why internet does not work on my laptop? Thanks for your help.

@alexis9 Did you enable the hotspot on your phone? Go into settings and make sure the hotspot is on. Make sure you are allowing access from your laptop.

I am not familiar with your particular model of phone. I have had some devices where dun had to be added to the APN type field for hotspot to work. This is a device thing, nothing to do with the carrier. If you are able to create a new APN, insert the following in the APN type field: default,supl,mms,dun.

@alexis9I assume you are connecting to your mobile hotspot wirelessly via wifi.
There are a few of potential failure points, check:

If your laptop is receiving the correct IP address from the hostpot.
If your laptop has the correct DNS address to resolve IP address. Use 8.8.8.8 (Google if you are unsure)
Do you have other network profiles eg school / work that might interfere with the network settings?
Is your phone customized by a previous provider? (some providers choose to disable wifi hotspot via firmware especially on lower end phones), to fix that you need the factory firmware.

Since your phone internet is connecting to the Public Mobile fine. The problem is likely out of the scope of this support forum, I recommend you find a Samsung J2 forum to troubleshoot and find support.
