U have 2 options : add data add ons or use wi-fi, activate imessage on iphone

$19 plan block the SMS, everytime iphone try to activate imessages received message from 611 said your current plan does not include text messaging.

iMESSAGE is provided by Apple, it uses data, while PM provides SMS/MMS, IMESSAGE should work without having SMS service in your plan, you should connect to internet using Wi-Fi to be able to iMSSAGE. http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=search&src=support_site.globalheader.search&locale=en_US&q=imessage

@up3up4 iMessage will not work on a $19 plan even if you have WiFi enabled. iMesaage has to sent SMS in order to activate the account and it wont be able to send SMS using $19 plan.
