PM is bring your own device (BYOD). One of the reasons the plans have great prices.

You can, however, switch plans at any point (recommended to do so upon next renewal). So if a promo plan is available and you're on something else, you can switch; you don't have to be a new customer.

@Amy1m87 Public Mobile (PM) is a bring-your-own-device company. So you'll have to get your own phone and make sure it's compatible with PM, then purchase the SIM card and activate. If you're not looking for anything fancy you can get fairly inexpensive phones at 7-eleven, or even gas stations. But PM is not in the business of selling cell phones, they only provide the cellular service.
