Purchasing data add-on - how does it work?

I'm nearing my data limit, and am considering purchasing the add-on. If I have 10 days left in my billing cycle, and only use 50% of the add-on, does the other 50% remain on my account until I run out of data again and need the extra?

The data add-on would carry over any unused data until it is used up.

@axyprang, before purchasing a data add-on you might want to consider the cost of early renewal vs buying a data add-on. In the case of the $25 plan, you will get 1GB for $25 instead of $30. For other plans that cost more than $30 to renew, it might still be worthwhile as you get a fresh new data bucket instead of 1GB at a small incremental cost. On the $40, plan, $10 more will yield 4GB extra data on the early renewal.
