Try just pressing 7 while listening.

611 doesn't go to VM.

While playing the message press 7 on your number pad to delete it and go to the next message.

Pressing 7 did the trick, why is this not an option that is announced when you listen to the message?

@embacher you can't announce everything or you would be listening all day you just do a little research and you will know what to do

Either you want to delete a message you've received, or delete your greeting. Which do you mean, I hate long personal greeting messages. (lol)

In both cases, follow the prompts in the voicemail access. If on a limited calling plan, call from another phone, and press * while the greeting is playing, and provide your password.

Follow the prompts to do what you wish.

press 1 to listen and 7 to delete. Or you can press 9 to save to listen later if you dont have time.
