Remove 'Public Mobile' from notifications bar

That's some prime real estate there. I had 'Koodo' showing up on it for the longest time and that was bad enough. Public Mobile is a long name. PM would be better. No carrier name at all would be ideal, though!

I know there may be a possibility if I root my phone. Is there anything less drastic?

what phone do you have some have the ability to hide or rename the carrier name.

If your using a custom android Rom you can rename it your self, however i know the average user has no idea what those are, i always recommend giving custom ones on android a spin as the options alone are worth it.

I assume you're using an Android phone. Rooting is definitely an option.

For me, "Public Mobile" is displayed only on the lock screen.

There are third party lock screens you can opt to use.

I have Android 6.0.

I can only remove it to my knowledge. Settings --> More --> Cellular Networks -->

Then take the checkmark out of Show Mobile Sim Network.

@mykllkym I have similar problem as Public Mobile is missing on the top left corner.
