Changing plans when plan is expired

My account status is: Plan expired and when I try to change plans I have the option "Top up to reactivate plan" or the greyed out option "Change on next renewal date"

I was wondering if I make a payment of $50 would that automatically renew my expired plan autmatically or would I be able to select the $50 plan (8gb data)

I messaged a mod asking to change my plan but they told me to make a payment and to let them know when it is done but I can't really wait the 2+ days between each message to start using my phone again.

Renew the current plan then ask the mods to change to the plan you want or future date the plan for next renewal.
