Was the SIM card damaged? Definitely agree you should check it in another phone, if you have that option. Also, did everything go smoothly with your activation?

Check your phone compatibility on this website: https://willmyphonework.net/

If your self-serve account says your line is Active, try the sim in any other unlocked phone and see if your sim works.

@akmkhalid, Based on info I found on GsmArena, your phone should be similar/same as the J1 mini. If that's the case, it *might* not be compatible (depending on sub-model) with the Public Mobile network, according to WillMyPhoneWork.net. Use the link in @NDesai 's post to double check. The IMEI checker on the Public Mobile web site is not totally accurate.

@akmkhalid unfortunately as @NDesai noted, the IMEI checker on PM's site is notoriously inaccurate and in your case I think you've fallen prey. If this is your phone https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_j1_nxt-7768.php I can confirm it is 100% incompatible with Public Mobile. Unfortunately it appears to be from overseas and only has the 3G frequencies usable there and lacks the two requried frequencies (850MHz and 1900MHz). The only Canadian provider you can use this phone with is Rogers/Fido/Chatr, since Rogers is the only one in Canada that operates a 2G GSM network, which is compatible with that phone--albeit at VERY slow data speeds. If you only want it for talk and/or text, try using Rogers or Fido or Chatr.
