I purchase the phone plan 50$ per month with the unlimited talk and text in the United states but now that i’m actually in the U.S. i can’t call or text

All Public Mobile plans are for while IN Canada. They offer roaming add-ons for the US and only the US.

Hi @Shaquille Does your phone display with roaming provider you are with? ie could be AT&T or TMobile etc.

Also make sure your phone's setting is set to allow roaming.

Correct...while in Canada. The OP is currently in the states. They need roaming add-ons.

@Shaquille: Interestingly, you can receive and take calls and texts without roaming add-ons. Just not outgoing.

So ur telling me that my plan means that i can talk and text someone in the US when i’m in canada . But if i’m in the US i cant contact somebody from the US or Canada

Correct. You need add-ons to call and text out and use data.

And how do I add the add ons .. will i be able to text and call someone else from the US ?while i’m in the US Or i can only text and call someone from canada

If you buy a US roaming add-on, you can call/text anyone in Canada and the US - while you are in the US. You can also include DATA (if you want). When buying the add-on, remember that it is a two step process. First time, you add the money into your account. The second time, you are actually buying the add-on with the money you just put into your account. The US roaming add-ons are good for up to 10 days (including the day they are purchased).

The post from GinYVR has a link to the instructions. A user @srlawren wrote a great post on them but I don't have that handy.

You can call out to Canada and the US. You can text out anywhere.

Edit: add to the above excellent information...keyword roaming. There are other add-ons that only work in Canada.

Please note that there is some US area code will not work with the US roaming add-on.

Talk option required. Calls made to numbers starting with the following six digit combinations are not included in U.S. Roaming talk Add-Ons or U.S. calling from Canada and will not be completed when dialed: 712-432, 605-562, 641-552, 605-475, 605-477, 712-775, 559-726, 530-881.

I know of no retailers in the states that would sell these SIM's. But I don't know everything.

Why do you need a Public Mobile card in the US? Isn't your PM SIM already in your device?

If you don't have your PM SIM, your only option will be to get a local SIM (I suggest Ting), as they work on the same techonology as Publc Mobile, and they're decently priced. Another is Mint Mobile, which is very much the same as Public Mobile.
