A friend of mine who I'm referring is going to port over from Telus. I know its been mentioned in the community that she would have to choose a new number first and then contact a moderator if she's porting from Koodo or PC mobile. Does the same thing apply to a Telus subscriber since Telus actually owns Public and Koodo? She is a post-paid Telus subscriber currently.

Another question I have is does the porting system work at all times? If she already has a sim card and does the whole online activation process at midnight or later, will she be ported over right away or is there specific hours where the porting system works? Does it work over the weekend too? Thanks in advance.

Porting from Telus post paid can be done without seeking moderator team support. The porting system is by and large automated, unless something goes wrong and humans have to get involved.

Try to use incognito/private browsing mode when activating or porting a number.

I think it is best to do it in the evening before going to bed. The porting process may take several hours so it would be ready when she wakes up in the morning.
