You must set the carrier setting in the setting application on your phone to “automatic”

I've activated my account and my phone number has switched from Koodo. The phone seems to recognize in the settings that it is a Public Mobile phone now, but in the top left corner where it should say Public it just says no service. I went to the site and downloaded the APN info and applied it, I also restarted a few times. I must be missing a step.

Lucas

If it's Android go into settings -> Network & Internet and make sure the Mobile network is set to auto and not Koodo.

@lucascandy, I am a little puzzled by your explanation. You say the notification shows Public Mobile is the network your phone is on, but yet the phone shows no service. Having service is how the phone is able to determine the network. Does your self serve account show active status? I would ask some questions about SIM lock, but again you say the phone settings show Public Mobile and you get can't get that far with a SIM locked phone.

Is it locked to Koodo?

Do you have another phone you can try the SIM card in?
