@mimmo: Thanks for your response. Interesting however that when I chose phone plans, I looked at almost everything on the market, including Koodo and in my perspective Koodo is more expensive than Public Mobile (https://www.koodomobile.com/rate-plans?INTCMP=KMNew_NavMenu_Shop_Plans). For example for what you get in Public Mobile for 30 dollars, you cannot get in Koodo; same goes to all other plans. So does this mean when they have the offers they give it for comparable/same price as Public Mobile?

Hi everyone,

Lately I've been seeing some Koodo offers related threads. Just curious and would like to know more about this. Is Public Mobile customers slowly being migrated to Koodo or does anyone know the purpose behind these migrations? I am just curious as I joined public mobile recently and do not know about the full history of these migrations/promotions?

Thank you 🙂

Public is the compact car of the family and Koodo is the midsize (more features ). Telus uses PM as the entry level and tries to push customers to Koodo as there is more profit (at least on the books) and it looks better. And they get you to typically spend more money with Koodo or Telus. Simply put they are moving people up the value chain.

Hi

We had 7 family members on the 2016 Fall promo and all of us were targeted to move to Koodo. 3 did. It made sense for them and not the others. All are still happy with the move or non-move. I have a number of PM monthly referrals so I stayed. My wife did not, but she has scooped up almost $200 in Koodo referrals in just a few months. And now we can use her account to buy new phones as we see the deals come. Now that she is post 90 days, she can get a phone, jump to seasonal hold and pay of the tab immediately, and do the self referral bonus.

As stated, it's not a kick in pants, but you do have to step back and think long term is this the best move for me.
